Through this special partnership with Take Stock in Children, eligible students can participate in a FREE summer abroad program with The Experiment. Explore a new country, immerse yourself in another culture, make lifelong connections, and develop skills that will help you in college, your career, and beyond.
Experience the World as Your Classroom
The Experiment has been creating transformative international experiences for high school students for more than 90 years. Our programs go beyond traditional travel, giving students the opportunity to learn through real-world experiences and meaningful connections with local communities.
During your summer abroad, you might live with a host family, explore local traditions, participate in hands-on activities, learn from community members, or discover a new academic interest.
With support from trained Experiment group leaders, you’ll have the opportunity to step outside your comfort zone, build confidence, and see the world from new perspectives.

Who Can Participate?
Most Experiment programs are open to students who have completed 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade but have not yet entered college or university.
To participate through the Take Stock in Children partnership, you must be an eligible Take Stock in Children student.
How Does the Free Program Work?
Thanks to the partnership between Take Stock in Children and The Experiment, eligible Take Stock students can participate in a FREE Experiment summer abroad program in Summer 2027.
This is an opportunity to experience another culture, learn beyond the classroom, and become part of a global community—all while preparing for your future.
How Do I Apply?
Summer 2027 programs will be available on The Experiment website at the end of September. In the meantime, explore our 2026 programs to get a sense of the destinations and types of experiences you could have with The Experiment.
The Summer 2027 application will be available after September 28, 2026. Take Stock in Children students are encouraged to apply by November 1, 2026, to meet the priority deadline.
