Mushrooms in Madrid!
In Madrid three of my friends and I went to a restaurant called Mesón del Champiñon (which is famous for its mushrooms). We stood at the bar to eat and while we were waiting had a nice long conversation with the guy behind the counter! I think it was my first real conversation completely in Spanish. The mushrooms were unbelievably good, and at the end of the meal I bought a little container for sauce with the name of the restaurant on it.
