Thailand-Group 2- Doi Suthep

A long, winding mountain road led us to top of Doi Suthep. The clouds, typical in the rainy season, were at our eye level as we truly ascended into the sky to visit the Royal Winter Palace and Wat Doi Suthep. This temple is sacred to many Thais, and its origin story includes an auspicious white elephant who collapsed in the spot where the temple was built as it was carrying a relic of the Buddha up the mountain. We stopped in the Royal family’s winter garden for a group photo in our black and white school uniforms.
