When we went to the elephant sanctuary at the “Elephant Natural Park” in Chiangmai, Thailand I thought that I was spending some time with some normal elephants in their habitat. What I saw were elephants were rescued from bad people that treated them badly or they were saved from death. My observation with the elephants was that some have traumatic experience before they came to the sanctuary and the more they spend time with the people and other elephants there, they feel much better and much safer. My highlight of the the day with the elephants was getting to feed them. I like feeding them because I get to be up close to touch them and their eyes that show so many stories and feelings.
