“The first week in Morocco we explored the city of Rabat. We were introduced to the CCCL (Center of Cross Cultural Learning), where we received our first Arabic lessons and introduction to the country and the customs, this included table manners and learning how to eat with our hands. We learned how to bargain in the local market and tested our abilities that same day. With all of these activities and being put outside of our comfort zone, we were able to develop a strong group dynamic and quickly formed friendships. Everyone adjusted to the conditions and truly began to connect with each other and the leaders. The first week was definitely a culture shock with lots of new concepts, however the while group had a great mentality to understand and get to know the new culture.” –Mayan
