Stepping onto the plane by myself was already an experiment. I’ve never really gone anywhere by myself and I was ready to embark on a journey of a lifetime. Fast forward 20 hours later and I found myself in a beautiful park surrounded by music, vibrant flowers, fascinating dancing elders, confused faces, but also good vibes and smiling faces all around. I was shocked at the reactions I got from people when they saw me. At times they could be very aggressive when it came to wanting my picture or wanting to know more about me. However, I experienced this for the first time with a new friend and that made it a hundred times easier. Overall I’m excited for what’s in store for me in China-a country millions of miles away from home.
