Second stop: Cortona!

After a whirlwind in Rome, the beautiful Tuscan town of Cortona was a welcome change of pace. In addition to exploring the narrow cobblestone streets and going for a group walk through the public park, our students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the language firsthand with daily Italian classes! After putting their language skills to practice by conversing with local shopkeepers and asking for directions during the scavenger hunt, tutti i nostri studenti si sono diplomati. Evviva!

Here are some student words from our time in Cortona:

“My favorite thing to do was get gelato after dinner from Snoopy’s and walk to the church where you could look at the towns below. At sunset and evening it was especially pretty. I also enjoyed seeing the vibrant nightlife of the city since I don’t see that where I’m from.”

“My favorite part about Cortona was the atmosphere. It is a fairly small town and being able to explore the ENTIRE city during the scavenger hunt was fun. I prefer Cortona to Florence.”

“I didn’t expect to go to Cortona and be at the top of the mountain. It was so cool to see all the local markets and speak Italian. We got to live like ‘the locals.'”

All smiles under the Tuscan sun!

Some of our students on their first day of Italian language class! Bravissimo!

Hoping for a little luck from “Il Porcellino” after a morning tour of Florence! In bocca al lupo!

Diploma ceremony – congratulazioni to our Italian graduates!
