During our first week in Thailand, we attended daily language classes at the nearby university. Our teacher, Gai, helped us to learn the sounds in the Thai language by teaching us a song many Thai children learn about elephants. Although we don’t know the song perfectly, we all tried our best to sing along. We even sometimes sing parts of it while we are riding around the city in songtaews, or red trucks.
