My first day was so amazing! We got to the village and all our moms were there ready to greet us. They took us to our homes and helped unpack. My host mom showed me around the house and made me lunch. At first, I was uncomfortable with staying in some random family’s house but as the week got on, I started to really make connections with my family. Also, the youth was open to playing with us! Every night we would meet up at the local sports court and play soccer and tag. The older kids were a little less open to talk to us, but we soon warmed up to them. Overall, this was the highlight of the trip!
