Begin your Experiment in Valparaíso, a coastal city known for its colorful hillside homes, where you will get to know your group and take Spanish language classes. You will develop global awareness and understanding?of environmental challenges as you traverse the country from the Pacific Ocean to the Andes mountains. Visit?a local farmers’ market and take a cooking class before a group bike ride through lush valleys and hiking through La Campana National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Continue practicing your Spanish as?you become immersed in the daily?life of a Chilean family during your homestay. Learn about the country’s history and traditions, such as dance and craft making. You will participate?in a community service project to?learn about traditional and sustainable agricultural practices. Depart for the Chiloé Archipelago, a chain of 40 majestic islands, where you will live with another Chilean family and learn about local history and myths.
Experience distinct architecture, such as the churches of Chiloé, known for their fusion of indigenous and European culture. 16 of these churches are UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Travel to mysterious Easter Island, one of the most unique places on Earth, to explore its rare geography and natural beauty. You will enjoy walks on the beach and visit the moai, the legendary stone statues carved by the indigenous Rapa Nui people. Wrap up your journey by visiting Santiago, Chile’s capital city, to explore the city by bike or foot and reflect with your group.
